"Exclusive - According to exclusive information «Romfea.gr», a few hours ago he resigned the Chief of OCA Metropolitan Jonah of America.
Give that same information indicates that the governor is Prince Archbishop Nathaniel of the Romanian Episcopate of the OCA.
Finally, noting that the new head of the OCA will be elected during the Inter-American Meeting of the OCA in the autumn".
A more reliable translation:
"According to proprietary information available to Romfea, Metropolitan Jonah resigned a few hours ago the head of the OCA.
The same source of information that gave the... news to Romfea indicates that Archbishop Nathanail of Romanian Diocese of OCA will preside over the OCA in the immediate interim.
Finally, it should be noted that the new leader of the OCA will be elected during the Synodal Meeting of the OCA next autumn [2011]."

This is an unsubstantiated rumor and such is gossip. According to our priest (OCA), Met. Jonah is merely taking a brief sabbatical to rest.
I'm sorry this must come as a shock to you and your priest. A sabbatical never heard of it.
You only have one source, which is hardly credible evidence. I'm sure an official OCA statement will become available soon.
Actually Mr. Lawrence I will accept your apology now. I have three direct sources including from Syosset.
Just moments ago I spoke with Monk Gregory, the Metropolitan's assistant who resides under the same roof with him. He said unequivocally, IT IS NOT TRUE. Met. Jonah has not resigned. It is unfounded rumor. The moral of the story: Don't trust the Greek press. :)
Don't deflect and make this about the Greek Press. This is if not unprecedented higly irregular for the Synod to place Met. Jonah on a leave of absence is the issue. If the OCA fails to inform the public we will seek out the truth and report it.
Hey Angela, I'm not deflecting. I'm being lighthearted.
I personally called the Metropolitan's assistant and he said this is NOT TRUE.
Until the OCA issues a press release, I'm going to trust that as far more reliable than the Greek press, or some sassy lady's blog.
And to those who stated that i published rumor let's us now review. He is on 'official leave'. This decision was made in his absence and he was informed of how to address this situation with the public.
Those close to Met. Jonah have been very selective about how to discuss this matter while the Synod seemed determined to discredit any comments and all the actions of Met. Jonah.
So whien will you be honest and admit that your original headline was wrong?
He has not resigned. I was in Church today and he was commerated as normal.
